The applicant must apply to
the University and the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry by
following the steps below. For
more information, see the Division of Graduate Studies Homepage by selecting
the following link and selecting ÔProspective StudentsÕ from the list on the
left side of the website. Under
the ÒProspective StudentsÕ link you will be able to find information for
Domestic and International Applicants, FAQ, and student forms.

1. Apply to the Department of Chemistry
and Biochemistry
(a) Complete the Department Application.
(b) Send GRE scores directly from Educational Testing Services
(ETS). SFSU code is 4684.
(c) Have letters of recommendation sent by the person writing
the letter directly to the Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Chemistry
& Biochemistry.
(d) In order to be
considered for Fall or Spring admission, the application, GRE scores, and
letters of recommendation must be received by April 1st (Fall
Admission) or November 1st (Spring Admission).

APPLICANTS (students requiring a F or J student visa):
(a) Apply online for admission to SFSU and complete the SEVIS
Information form.

(b) English Language Proficiency Requirement
Score Report (TOEFL or IELTS) sent directly by the testing company to our
Institution (TOEFL Institution code for SFSU is 4683).
